Crystal has been involved in educational work for many years, in both private and public schools.

She is a part of the founding team of a progressive, inclusive, bilingual public elementary school, where she applies her educational and practical experience. Crystal also does a lot of work in the community, organizing a range of extracurricular programs, including Girl Scouts, horseback riding, cooking classes, and day trips beyond the city. She is the founder of Kids Passport to Adventure (KPTA), which allows her to combine her diverse experiences in education and progressive teaching methods into a hands-on, experiential approach that enhances traditional classroom learning.

Crystal is my lead partner (through KPTA) on our annual Juneteenth event and a regular volunteer at our book events. Her way of being brings so much to our youth and to our greater Harlem community.
